“I would like to add my support to PDS’s continued long term help and support to my sister, Ellie. Ellie has three older brothers, aged 68, myself aged 67 and another aged 65 Our parents died when she was young and she has been in residential care from the age of 16. Because of the nature of her disabilities, Ellie requires 24 hour care to ensure she has the best quality of life available.
It is vital that we do everything we can to ensure that this continues especially if Ellie were to outlive us, her brothers. PDS has to date provided invaluable support to Ellie and we believe it is essential that she continues to have the support and help of an independent advocate who will represent her best interests and attempt to resolve any problem areas that might arise. In this regard, PDS is ideally placed to offer the protection that vulnerable adults need to ensure their quality of life is not compromised in the future.
As Ellie’s only family, myself and her two brothers would wholeheartedly support the continuance of the service that PDS provides.
