Margaret was an extremely talented retired photographer. Unfortunately she suffered a brain injury from multiple strokes 2 years ago. Margaret was referred by NHS Continuing Care to the PDS as she was estranged from her family. In the time that we knew Margaret we put her affairs in order, starting with ensuring she was in the most appropriate care home. Amongst other things our work included selling her unused car, returning her property to the council, liaising with the benefit agencies, stopping unnecessary payments and settling any bills owed. We communicated closely with Margaret’s friends and carers to ensure she had everything she needed and her wishes fulfilled as far as possible..
Even though Margaret is no longer with us we have registered her death, made her funeral arrangements and ultimately we will distribute Margaret’s estate according to her wishes.
