Lynne’s Letter

These comments to the PDS are from Lynne who lives in Australia and are about her sister who lives on her own in Suffolk.

“That is such fantastic news….. I am feeling so much more reassured about my sister’s financial future.  I have made peace with myself that I won’t (nor will anyone really) be able to change her social and emotional state, but I am so relieved that she will have her other needs met, food on the table, a roof over her head and so on.  You have all worked so hard at the PDS, her condition is so hard to define and it’s only over time that it becomes apparent that she is lost.  You are the only ones who listened to me and after the problems at the end of 2019 I don’t know where she would be now.  Thank you!!!!

My only lasting niggle financially is the house insurance.  I know this was paid monthly to HSBC from one of the HSBC accounts. For my own self-preservation I have avoided looking at these of late but I have a feeling that they are probably at zero now, which means that the house insurance won’t be paid.  Could you please check that there is insurance and let me know, or organise it if needs be? Then I can relax and know that all is under control (you may have done this previously, it’s just the last thing I am unaware of).

Anyway, thank you again, it really is the best news and something I would NEVER have been able to organise from here, I really am so grateful that I persevered and found the PDS.

This has been such a worrying and distressing time for me and I would love others to realise that there are solutions and have hope.

In a scattered world, with an ageing population, there must be many who would benefit from such a caring team as the PDS. I can only imagine how desperately worried my mother had been. If only I had realised the extent earlier we could have planned with your guidance.  Mum would have had peace, my sister wouldn’t have been frightened of the change, and I wouldn’t have sent 300+ emails and made goodness knows how many late-night phone calls.”
