Mary was in a muddle with her money. Her partner had died and, as well as another property, there were pensions, investments and shares that were gradually taking over the dining room table. Her Doctor agreed she had capacity and that allowed her to instruct the PDS to act for her and to prepare Lasting Powers of Attorney. She was absolutely clear she did not want to go into a home, but remain in her own home, and so, although choices were offered to her, and advice given, and even reluctantly, a visit made to a very nice care home, home is where she has remained, and, she would say, living happily ever after.
